The Coffee Whore I wouldn't dream of advising anybody else about how to make perfect coffee. It's an individual thing, and whatever works for you is what works. For me, pretty much anything works as long as strong coffee is the result. I use a cafetiere most of the time because it's convenient and quick enough without wasting any of the caffeine. We also have coffee pots, Espresso jugs, filters and ancient bubblers that pour cascades of amber liquid into an ancient glass top so you can tell when it's dark enough and remove it from the heat. I read here of adding flaroured syups to coffee, but the whole idea of covering over that sumptuous, opulent, aromatically satisfying experiance with vanilla, strawberry or banana fills me with revulsion. Aren't flavoured milk shakes enough for you people? It is, in my opinion, the depths of depravity and bad taste to sully the exquisite taste of coffee with anything but a little sugar but only if you must, and some whitener be it milk or vegetable based whitener. But preferably none of these things. The coffee plant is a god of the plant world, and we grind her beans to make nectar of the gods. I even like instant, but then I'm a coffee whore.
