The Bitch is back
I had felt mildly elated and hopeful with the news that the hateful bitch Thatcher had been taken ill and gone into hospital, is this it, I wondered, is it time to rejoice? Not yet, she's been let out with nothing wrong with her, so all those in the country awaiting her demise, surely most people, will have to wait. The viscious, deranged, mysogenistic snob is going to hang around for a while longer. Thatcher was the single worst thing that has happened to the UK since the Nazis decided to make war in Europe. But unlike the war which united the British across all classes, Thatcher divided the country, even setting the working class against each other, destroyed the stock of affordable social housing by selling houses off to those tenants who could afford to buy, thus creating snobs on estates who would vote tory [she hoped] and less and less houses available to anyone needing a house to rent who couldn't get a mortgage; so the very poorest in our society. These people could just as easily have bought a house privately, but by forcing councils to sell the council houses, and pay the tenants a huge discount for the privilege, money was handed to the wealthiest worting class, many of whom quickly sold the house on at market rates and pocketed tens of thousands of pounds. Those profiteers will doubtless still look kindly on the raddled old fascist hag. Others feel differently. The miners and other trade unionists who she set her police against will rejoice with me when she finally dies. Many others who have witnessed the damage she did to British society and social cohesion who aren't blinded by self interest will likewise not mourn her passing. A few tories in both the Conservative party and New Labour, a Thatcherite party in all by name now, will go through the motions, voice the expected platitudes, and doubtless attend the memorial service with their own kind. I will rejoice, what she told everyone to do over the Falklands war, which she engineered to boost her own popularity killing thousands in the process. I hope it's soon. |
