Head on crash kills six A crash on the A429 between Moreton in Marsh and Stow on the Wold in Gloucestershire on Friday which claimed the lives of six people, including a teenager, was described as one of the worst ever in the county. A Peugeot collided head on with a VW Passat while overtaking a Kia, all four occupants died. Three people in the Passat, including two children aged nine and ten from Stow, are in hospital with serious injuries. Their grandmother was killed and their grandfather injured. And so, yet again, a driver unwilling to wait a few seconds for a safe place to overtake, wipes himself and his family out along with several strangers, and changes the lives of the extended families forever. I have been overtaken so many times by boy racers who are in such a hurry they can't wait till safely round a bend, but have to push it, ever the need for speed. It's particularly bad with young males, but some of them never seem to grow up and you can see similar drivers aged fifty sometimes, while young women are starting to catch up with the addiction to speed. On the UK's crowded roads, speed kills.
