Goodbody's Stout
Watchdogs have rejected complaints that a logo for a beer brewed in Herefordshire UK, was too sexy. The label for the beer, Dorothy Goodbody Stout, features a blonde showing her thighs and is painted in the style of forties and fifties British seaside postcards, which was too much for the charity Alcohol Concern who complained the picture was sexually suggestive. I think Alcohol Concern used to be called the Temperence Union, they certainly have little discrimination or sense of humour. Brewers are not allowed to associate their products with sexual success, but the regulater rejected the complaint, saying the brewery had not crossed the line from acceptable to irresponsible marketing. Far from associating the beer with success, sexual or otherwise, the logo is just a light-hearted design and, if anything, promotes wholesomeness. |
