American idiots
A new Gallup poll has found that Americans are the stupidest people on the planet. The poll confirms what many of us already knew: Americans are stupid. When asked what single country do you consider to be the greatest threat to stability in the world, the vast majority of TV-watching American idiots voted for Iran, with China coming in second and North Korea at third. The US didn't figure in it, despite it being one of the largest arms dealers in the world, has invaded more countries than anyone since WWII, has the largest stock piles of WMD in the world, has stepped out of international missile treaties so it can develop yet more megadeath bombs, and voted for a true idiot, Bush, who has waged war against two countries which still continue, only 8% of Americans consider the US a threat to world stability. Which is pretty worrying. That leaves 92% of those polled are idiots. Iran has invaded no one, North Korea has invaded no one, and China has invaded Tibet, but is unlikely to invade the US seeing as how they own the US national debt. But then it took decades for Americans to realise that they couldn't beat Vietnam into submission despite what arsenal of vile weapons they threw at it, and they eventually had to quit, running for their lives to helicopters before the Viet Cong arrived in Saigon. Since which time the Vietnamese have had to live with the legacy of American interference in their country; agent orange has cause many thousands of birth defects and the country will remain polluted with dioxins for a long time. It seems America has to have a war now and then to satisfy its arms industry which really runs the presidency. And thousands of young Americans, brought up on flag waving patriotic fervour, sign up to go die in a foreign country for what? |
